Bio from Boneta
Affectionately known by some as "the hot guy with the tattoos" (sorry Ben), Jeff started cooking 12 years ago in his native Nova Scotia. He cut his teeth for a few years in the trenches of CFD & learned the ropes of "the other ocean". He was happy but wanted more, and a better ocean, so he made the move to beautiful British Columbia.
Jeff spent six years in Whistler, four of which he worked at, up & through Trattoria de Umbertos. After he learned Italian, he wanted to learn French, so he made the move to Vancouver. In honour of his good friend Jess Nichol, he joined Boneta two years ago. Working with his two very talented predecessors he honed his technique, palate and passion until it was inevitable that he took the helm. Jeff's menus continue Boneta's tradition of celebrating our ridiculously rich local bounty with a distinct, respectful & creative voice.
His food is simple yet sophisticated, like an open hug from smart, well-dressed old friend.
Jeff has travelled from one coast to the other, with some mountains in between, to find his voice with us at Boneta. We feel very fortunate to be a part of the conversation and so will you. Please come on down, meet Jeff, and join in.
